Biafra: Don't play with Nnamdi Kanu's Case or risk more uprising — John Campbell Tells Nigeria govt

Former US Ambassador to Nigeria, John Campbell, has reacted to the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB. Kanu was arrrested on Sunday and returned to Nigeria to face his charges. The Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, revealed the IPOB leader's detention. Though Malami has yet to reveal where Kanu was apprehended, his family claims the IPOB leader was re-arrested in Kenya. He was taken before the Justice Binta Nyako-led Abuja Federal High Court to resume his trial upon his return to Nigeria. While the case was adjourned, Justice Nyako remanded Kanu in the custody of the Department of State Services, or DSS. Campbell cautioned the Nigerian government on the handling of Kanu’s trial. He issued the warning in a tweet on his official Twitter handle. JUNE 12: U.S. Issues Strong Warning Against Tomorrow's Protest

The United States Mission in Nigeria has warned its citizens in Nigeria to exercise caution during the June 12 protests. This was contained in a demonstration alert posted on the Embassy's website on Friday. It was titled, “Demonstration Alert: U.S. Mission Nigeria (June 11, 2021) – Nationwide Protests on Democracy Day.” It read, “Several groups have announced their intentions to protest nationwide on June 12, Democracy Day.  “Police presence and response can be expected nationwide, including in Abuja where government events are scheduled to celebrate the national holiday and in Lagos where simultaneous protests are planned.   “The likely locations for the protests in Abuja will be at Unity Fountain (Hilton Hotel area), Wuse, Berger Roundabout, Aguiyi Ironsi Way, Airport Road, and British Circle. In a viral video trending online, a US Army personnel appeals with the President of United States, Donald Trump to allow them invade Nigeria. According to the US soldier: “President Trump, I hope you see this. "I am a US citizen and soldier under oath of allegiance. I have my dad, my mum, back in Nigeria and they are suffering on daily basis. The UK is useless, they can’t do anything because they are benefitting from Nigeria. "I know you have the power. I’m ready to bear arms against the Nigerian government, Army, etc. Let’s put an end to tyrant government” He said.

I will pay Jobless Americans $300 weekly - Trump vows, signs COVID-19 bill

President Donald Trump has signed the $2.3trillion coronavirus relief and government funding bill into law. President-elect Joe Biden had expressed concern about Trump’s delay. “This abdication of responsibility has devastating consequences”, he warned in a statement. The assent will forestall a government shutdown expected to begin on Tuesday. The $900billion relief package will help Americans, registered immigrants and businesses cope with the economic shock caused by the pandemic. Twelve million people in two pandemic unemployment programs are to receive benefits for 11 weeks. In the breakdown, every adult and child earning up to $75,000 will get $600 direct payment. Those earning between $75,000 and $99,000 would get smaller checks. Jobless workers will receive up to $300 per week through mid-March. Self-employed people and gig workers will also receive further assistance. The bill provides $25billion to help families pay their rent; it extends the current eviction mora
