Breaking News: Bandits Kill Army General, Abduct wife

        The Nigerian Army has announced the death of Major General Hassan Ahmed, a former Provost Marshal. This was announced in a statement sent by the Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, on Friday. According to the statement, Ahmed was killed by gunmen while along Lokoja – Abuja road on Thursday, 15 July 2021. Breaking News: Bandits Kill 19 Persons, Set Houses Ablaze In Katsina

News reaching our desk  now has it that some suspected bandits have attacked Tsauwa village, Batsari Local Government Area, Katsina State, killing 19 residents, while many houses were set ablaze.  The bandits also carted away valuable items from the community during the attack. It was gathered that the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday. When contacted, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Gambo Isah, confirmed the attack. The PPRO was, however, unable to give details of the incident saying he was in contact with the Duty Police Officer, DPO in charge of the area for more details.

High Tension: Many dead as Nigerian Soldiers, ISWAP fighters battles in Borno

Militants belonging to the Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) on Tuesday razed a military formation in Kwamdi village, Damboa Local Government Area of Borno state. Damboa LGA is located in Southern Borno with a distance of 87km from Maiduguri. SaharaReporters gathered that three soldiers were killed during the attack while about seven members of factional Boko Haram sect also lost their lives. The militants were said to have carted away weapons belonging to the military during a gun duel. The fighters were said to have stormed the area in 10 utility vehicles, and burnt down one Ammour Personal Carrier (APC) and a gun truck. According to a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF), Hamidu Abu, the deadly group targeted soldiers camp but not residents. BREAKING: Police Arrest Teenager Who Killed Two Suspected Bandits in Katsina

The police in Katsina have arrested a 13-year-old boy, Abdulkarim Mati, for killing two men suspected to be bandits.   The police said the suspect, Mati was once an errand boy to a bandit leader, Ardo Nashaware, who resides in Birnin Magaji forest, Zamfara State, Punch reports. He was said to have fled the forest where he allegedly committed the act. Unknown gunmen have unleashed a fresh attack in Akwa Ibom State As they destory facilities at DSS office. It was gathered that the incident which occurred early hours of Sunday, May, 2, 2021, also saw facilities at the DSS office located close to the INEC office destroyed. Unknown gunmen have attacked Abaomege Police Station in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. Newsmen gathered that attack which occurred on Saturday night claimed the life of one police officer on duty. A police source, who confirmed the attack, said the gunmen attacked the station with dangerous arms. “Yes some unknown gunmen attacked Abomege police station and a policeman was killed while another was hospitalized following injuriew sustained in the attack,” the source stated. Unknown gunmen have unleashed a fresh attack in Akwa Ibom State killing about 12 cows and setting an INEC office on fire. According to the report, the assailants also launched another vicious attack on herdsmen killing at least 12 cows that were said to be grazing near a creek. The Independent National Electoral Commission has said that its office in Essien Udim Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State has been set ablaze.
