The President may have concluded that Christians will do nothing and will live with these a

He said, “This government owes the nation an explanation as to where it is headed as we seem to journey into darkness. The spilling of this blood must be related to a more sinister plot that is beyond our comprehension. Are we going to remain hogtied by these evil men or are they gradually becoming part of a larger plot to seal the fate of our country? Buhari made the statement on Tuesday, saying the 1,400 kilometres of border Nigeria shares with Niger Republic could only be “effectively supervised by God”. On his Twitter handle on Wednesday, Omokri said the president should either resign or be impeached since he had failed in his constitutional duty to secure the country and now putting the country’s security in the hands of God. “In any other country, when a President publicly admits that he can no longer police his nation’s borders, he will resign or be removed,” Omokri tweeted. Confusion hits Nig govt as International Newspaper says Nigeria on the brink of becoming a failed State

Image
Buffeted by economic ill-fortune, terrorism, illiteracy, poverty, banditry, and kidnapping, Nigeria is teetering on the brink and risks becoming a failed state if things don’t take a drastic turn. This was the view of the London Financial Times yesterday in its editorial entitled “Nigeria is at risk of becoming a failed state.” Expressing concern over kidnapping and insecurity in the country, the newspaper wondered why insurgency has continued to thrive in Nigeria after“President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 pronounced Boko Haram “technically defeated.” It observed that Buhari’s claim has “proved fanciful,” just as it noted that “Boko Haram has remained an ever-present threat.” It said the recent kidnapping of over 300 school boys revived memories of the Chibok schoolgirls kidnapped in 2014. Citing the case of the Kankara schoolboys, the editorial raised alarm over the extension of the operations of Boko Haram to other parts of the country. “If the latest kidnapping turns out to be its wor

I Regret Being A Minister Under Buhari Because... - Lai Mohammed Cries Out

Image
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has said that his only regret as a minister of Nigeria is that some Nigerians have failed to appreciate that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is doing so much with little resources. The minister stated this at a Special Forum of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja. Mohammed explained that with dwindling resources, no government in Nigeria’s history had implemented programmes alleviating poverty among vulnerable groups and women as well as creating jobs for the youths as the Buhari administration had done. “My regret in this government is that Nigerians have failed to appreciate that the government is doing much more with much less. “2010 to 2014 crude oil was selling from 100 dollars to 140 dollars per barrel, but the highest we’ve sold since we came in is 60 dollars. “Sometimes, at the peak of COVID-19 pandemic, we were even paying for storage because nobody wanted to take our crude. “With

In a statement released on Tuesday by the Media and Communications Secretary of the group, Akintoye said Yoruba people all over the world should be prepared to welcome their freedom in no distant future. He said the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria and the amalgamation of 1914 of the Southern and Northern Protectorates in 1914 by the British were the means through which the assets and sovereignty of the people of the Middle Belt and southern parts of the country were hijacked. He said, “The Yoruba journey to redemption has started, and soonest, we are going to reach our Canaan land without any bloodshed.” The statement announced a former Commissioner for Education in Osun State and former Director of Institute of African Studies at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Prof Wale Adeniran, as the Interim National Chairman of
