  According to a BBC reporter, The judge, Binta Nyako, have adjourned Nnamdi Kanu’s trial to October 21st 2021. However, Nnamdi Kanu was rearrested and brought back to Nigeria in June. Apparently, The case was adjourned due to Nnamdi Kanu was not present, the judge however said she will not state the trial in the absence of Nnamdi Kanu. Details soon……

 As the trial of the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu begins today, the officials of the Department of the State Services, DSS, have refused some lawyers, Journalists and supporters entrance to the court room, where the hearing is taking place. Kanu is being charged with treasonable felony. The IPOB leader was accused of inciting violence for his agitation for an independent Republic of Biafra. However, reacting to today’s hearing, the Coordinator of Igbo Lawyers all over the world, alleged that he came from Aba, Abia state and was denied access to the court room. Other lawyers who spoke with Vanguard, also condemned the inaccessibility of the courtroom and doubted if the hearing would be fair on Kanu. WATCH VIDEO:

Tension Everywhere As Nigerian Police Arrest IPOB Members Showing Solidarity With Nnamdi Kanu At Abuja Court

  Some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have been arrested by the police at the Federal High Court in Abuja where their leader, Nnamdi Kanu is standing trial The IPOB members were at the court to show solidarity with Kanu, who is standing trial for charges that include terrorism and treasonable felony.  Some of them wore Jewish attire and could be heard chanting slogans in support of the IPOB leader and demanding his freedom.  After a policeman initially tried to disperse the IPOB members and threatened to shoot one of them, some of them were thereafter arrested.  Others fled following the arrest of their counterparts.  Kanu has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since his arrest and extradition to Nigeria from Kenya.  Meanwhile, on Sunday, Aloy Ejimakor, special counsel for the detained leader of the IPOB, warned security agents against molesting Kanu's supporters who might want to show up at the Federal High Court, Abuja on Monday for t

Breaking: Tension Everywhere As Masked armed officers takes over Federal High Court ahead of Nnamdi Kanu's trial

  Ahead of the continuation of the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, the Nigerian government has deployed operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) to the premises of the Federal High Court, Maitama in Abuja. The IPOB leader is standing trial before the Justice Binta Nyako Federal High Court, Abuja nine charges bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony, among others. A detachment of hooded armed officers was seen stationed at the entrance of the Federal High Court with motorbikes and vehicles preventing human and vehicular movements into the area. The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, had earlier warned members of the IPOB not to show up at the Court hearing on Monday. Just In: Remember Nnamdi Kanu In Prayer — IPOB Lawyer Tells Biafrans Ahead Of Monday Trial

  Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lawyer to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has urged Nigerians to remember him (Kanu) in prayer as the IPOB leader will be appearing in court on Monday, July 26. The lawyer noted that nothing would change the day of trial, as earlier scheduled. There had been speculations that Kanu’s case might not come up on the said date courtesy of the annual vacation for Nigerian judges. The judges’ vacation is expected to start on July 26 and would end on September 17, 2021. However, in a statement on Friday, Kanu’s lawyer, Barrister Ejiofor revealed that the case would be called up for hearing as scheduled.  The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has reacted to a statement by an Ijaw leader and elder statesman, Pa Edwin Clark that the South-South region cannot be part of Biafra. IPOB stated that Clark is irrelevant in the operations of Nigeria and lacks the influence to speak for the people of Niger-Delta region. The Nigeria’s Attorney General, Abubakar Malami has adjusted the number of charges filed against the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mr. Nnamdi Kanu. The Department of State Service (DSS) had on 23 November 2015 filed cases on intimidation, criminal conspiracy, unlawful possession of firearms and membership of an illegal organization which branches penal code Section 97, 97B and 397 upon the IPOB leader.   One of the disciples of the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, on Radio Biafra, Simon Ekpa, has given 24-hour ultimatum to Channels Television, Guardian Nigeria, and other media outlets that reported that the Eastern Security Network, ESN, killed two soldiers in Enugu State. In a statement released on his official Facebook page and obtained by Newsmen, Ekpa said Guardian Nigeria have tried to withdraw their own report but it is not enough.
