War Looms!! Aso Rock Panics, Tension Erupts Abuja metropolis as fear of Shiites Rises Again

There is palpable fear and tension Thursday morning with Abuja metropolis over fears that protests by Islamic Movement of Nigeria otherwise called Shiites may escalate as the weekend approaches. 

Clashes between the group and security agencies earlier in the week led to serious injuries suffered by nearly a dozen police officers who prevented the protesters from forcing their way into the premises of Nigeria’s national assembly where both the Senate and the House of Representatives are located. 

Over 40 members of the sect are currently in police custody due to the riot that the protests engendered. 

Daily Times could see hundreds of riot anti-riot police men, agents of Nigeria’s secret police from the Department of state security services (DSS), those of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) among other patrolling the three-arms zone, entrance to Aso Rock Villa, seat of the Federal Government, national secretariat, Louis Edet House headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force, the court of appeal complex, venue of the of-going presidential election petition tribunal, the eagles square and Abubakar Tafawa Balewa House (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), among other parts of Abuja.
