Ex Militants threaten to withdraw from protection of oil facilities

EX militants in the Niger Delta have threatened
to pull out of the protection of facilities of OML
30 if Heritage Energy operational services
limited, operators of the oil block should go
ahead with their alleged plan to introduce a non
governmental organization, NGO to negotiate
review of Memorandum of Understanding , MoU
with host communities of the oil block.

Spokesman of the ex-militants, General Odiri
Agas, who spoke yesterday in Warri, Delta
state, said that communities should be allowed
to present their demands directly to operators
of the oil block, adding that if the
operatorsbring in a third party it would provoke
crisis in the 111 host communities of the oil
block.
He said as an ex militant leader that had been
securing facilities of the oil fields in the various
communities with his boys he would be
forced to withdraw his boys because they
cannot guarantee security of the facilities in
the face of hostile communities.
